The boat chosen for your Northern Lights Sailing Adventure will be dependant on the size of your group. You will be sailing onboard a very well equipped and modern comfortable ocean sailing yacht. High quality meals will be served on board according to your preferences. The skipper/crew will ensure you have a fabulous Northern Lights Sailing Adventure.
We offer long weekend & week long tours departing from our base in Tromsø. The Northern Lights Sailing season runs from October to March. Aurora Borealis is seen during the dark hours which can vary from 17:00 to 02:00 depending on the time of the season.
Shorter Trips
Shorter trips include circumnavigations of some of the most beautiful and dramatic of Northern Norway’s Coastline and Islands. During the day you can sail amongst incredible rugged mountainous backdrops with green and fertile rolling countryside surrounding you. Visit remote fisherman’s villages and traditional small towns. Experience local Sami traditions and events such as skiing or dog sledging. You will learn all about the Northern Lights, the endless star constellations and much more as you travel.
Some example itineraries include:
- Kvaløya circumnavigation (Ryøya – Sommarøya – Vengsøya)
- Ringvassøya circumnavigations (Kvaløyvågen, Kjerringvika, Helgøya, Karlsøya)
- Rebbenesøya circumnavigations (Sandøya, Løksfjord, Toftefjord, Hansnes)
- Lyngen fjord (Nordlenangen, Havnnes, Djupvik, Årøyholmen, Lyngseidet)
All routes have been designed to be close to open sea but at the same time be sheltered from the elements. Of course the weather will always ultimately decide the best route.
